what did the ending mean?
All in all, it was a story about haunted hotel – the old guy behind the counter was the mentioned old man from the book, who’s wife fell on a knife trying to rush to help the suicidal girl. The biggest theme is that all occupants of room 06 had met tragic fates – mentioned girl, ended her life, old lady died falling on a knife, her husband most probably died from grief, which is why I would reckon, he is haunting still the hotel. Our character and his wife also perish in a car accident, with their daughter living alone, with a trauma of losing her parents in a car accident – as they ended up as new victims of room no. 06. We could also assume, that daughter herself might be already, or will be haunting the motel herself due to trauma.
