Battle of Britain: 303 Squadron

Battle of Britain: 303 Squadron is a web browser Flash-based action game telling the story of No. 303 (Polish) Fighter Squadron, one of 16 Polish squadrons in the Royal Air Force during the Second World War and the most effective RAF unit during the Battle of Britain.
The 5-mission campaign starts on 30 August 1940 (when one of the pilots shot down a Bf 110 during a training flight) and follows important events in the squadron’s history. What sets this side-scrolling shooter apart from similar games is that all featured characters are historical figures – fellow pilots often communicate with the player (full voice acting, also in animations advancing the story and presenting the historical background).

A multiplayer option is also available – in cooperative and team deathmatch mode.

The game was released to promote the première of a British dramatised documentary The Untold Battle of Britain produced by Channel 4, dealing with the subject of Polish airmen arriving in Great Britain after experiencing the air battles over Poland and France, their contribution to the Allied cause, and the touchy aspect of “Western betrayal”.
